June 15, 2019 – Carbon Pricing vs the Raptors. Apparently no contest.

Some people say that I should study to become a climate scientist so that I can “solve the climate crisis”. But the climate crisis has already been solved. We already have all the facts and solutions.

“And why should I be studying for a future that soon may be no more, when no one is doing anything to save that future? And what is the point of learning facts when the most important facts clearly mean nothing to our society?

~Greta Thunburg

See her talk at the UN here

I’ve listened in absolute disbelief to the furor that Canada has been under for the past few weeks re the Raptors playoff win. There are some people who seriously need to get their head from between their ass cheeks. It would be comedic if it wasn’t so telling of our thinking.  Remember ?….12 years till its irreversibly horrific, (well actually its now 11.5)

Yes it will mean more expensive energy, Yes it will mean lifestyle changes, Yes it will be painful. And the alternative is my generation can end their lives grasping at the straws of lifestyle, whilst knowing that they are passing a huge deadly bag of shit to their kids and grand kids. I’m struggling with the ability to keep talking to people who think that they somehow are not going to be affected.

He has an eloquent story to hear. Episode audio wasn’t available because CBC deemed  interviews about Degrassi Palooza , Dodgeball Defense and Royal Swans were more important.
